Here's another subject to kick start the heart: CLEAR...

Tried Cains chicken restaurant. Not bad. Sauce is pretty good.
Couple of locations in DFW.

That's it. http://www.raisingcanes.com/locations/

Since the end of last year, from my perch fighting rush hour on the
freeway as I drive by, their parking lot looks like the old Krispy
Kreme donut houses when that was the fad place to be seen eating dough
and sugar. Staff is still enthusiastic + rah rah rah about the Caniac
special. Not so greasy for fried chicken but YMMV.

What did you have? I got some nuggets or strips or the like
there, with some sort of buttermilk-dressing sauce, and was
not at all impressed. Maybe I need to try something else.

Typical fast food. I tried it once myself and thought it OK but nothing
special.

But here's a question for any of you who have eaten at Peggy Sue's:

Does anyone think the quality has gone down the last 5 years? It might be
just my memory of the first time I had the baby backs and thought they
were the best I ever tasted or I might be right about the quality. The
last few times they weren't as "magical" as I thought they used to be.

This.

Not sure how this place will stay viable in DFW. So many other places to
get better food, even just chicken.

They *might* have a winner if they went with a chicken strip/slaw/frys
all on the sandwich say Appalachia style. Otherwise, these places are DONE.

Speaking of regional variations on chicken, I'd like to see more
Pollo Camperos open up. That place is damned good, even if a
little light on portions.
