So, you're all sniffly, got a sore throat, maybe a bit of a fever, and you
want this cleared up.

Where do you go to get it cleared up? What restaurants have the best food to
make you feel better when you're sick?

I tend toward soup when not feeling wonderful, and I either want spicy to
open up the sinuses, like chicken tortilla soup, or smooth to sooth the
throat, like the Cheese Broccoli soup at Black Eyed Pea.

Where do y'all go?

Mai's Vietnamese restaurant in East Dallas.

Try a big bowl of the beef and noodle soup. Add the cilantro, bean sprouts,
sliced jalapenos and a big squeeze of lime juice. It will warm you up, help
the throat and open your sinuses. Excellent shrimp and pork spring rolls
too. It's always worked for me. Or you could go next door to the Jade
Garden. Try the three delicacies soup and add the hot chile oil. Be
careful with that oil. It's hot. I always get a plate of the crispy shrimp
along with the soup. The shrimp are flash fried in a wok with the shells
and legs attached and meant to be eaten that way. Sounds weird, but they
are great. Cooked with garlic, ginger and scallions. Either place is
great. Been going to each one for over 20 years. Always consistently good.

Pho for the win.

That and a neti pot.

It's gotta be Pho. I go with enough Sriracha to make a nice nuclear-red
broth.

Soup seems to be the thing - I can also go for a big bowl of good Hot and
Sour, or for something really cheap and fast, the Chicken Noodle at Boston
Market actually isn't bad.

WTF?

Only a self-centered, inconsiderate prick would go to a restaurant
when sick and fuck up everyone around him just to cheer himself up.

Hopefully, someone will throw their hot coffee in your face to "help"
heal you because, after all, you are the center of everyone's world.

Have it delivered to your home, idiot. No doubt you'll snot on the
tip, too, and then laugh.

I go to Buffet Palace and get hot and sour soup and spicy kimchi
seafood soup. At the BUFFET!

Works for me every time.

Buffet Palace (Austin) doesn't deliver. Besides, I would just
contaminate the driver who would in turn deliver my sickness to
dozens of other homes and their occupants.

Do not conflate "sick" with "contagious".
