Jeff Dominguez is opening a new version of Tupinamba in Frisco. This means
that people won't have to drive all the way down to Inwood and Harvest Hill
anymore if they live up in "Southern Oklahoma" to get that particular style
of Tex-Mex fairly soon.

Not sure of the size of the place or how closely they'll echo the Tupinamba
menu, but since they use family recipes I would suspect that the basics will
be the same.

The new place is called Tupy's, so I suspect similar things from it as well
based on that detail.

Where in Frisco? I was never a big fan of the Tupinamba's in Dallas
(never liked their tortillas) but will give them another whirl up in Frisco.

Diddn't get a location when I was there.

Oh, and if you try it, be sure to ask for the homestyle hot sauce -- it's
quite different from their standard offering, sometimes hotter, sometimes
milder, but always more flavor thanks to the tomatillos.

I have to be honest - I've never heard of Tupinamba. However, that's not
far from my office (Inwood/Harvest Hill), so you've given me a lunch
destination for some day very soon. Thanks for that! Hopefully soon I
will also get back to my pattern of trying new ethnic places in N Dallas to
try and reciprocate.

Tupinamba's on Inwood is next door to Picasso's. We tried Tupinamba a
couple of months ago based on a long ago recommendation in this forum.
We didn't find it bad, but we certainly didn't find it worth going back
to when there are so many Mexican restaurants that we like better
(almost all of them, actually).

By the way, we do like Picasso's and return there often.
