What happened to the Onions and Jalapenos ???

I go to Costco.

I look for the gazillion pound bag of onions. Gone.
I look for the google pound bag of fresh green jalapenos. Gone.
I look for the googleplex jar of sliced jalapenos. Gone.

Huh.

I ask the staff.

"We're out of that and don't know when it will be back in stock.
We do know that they're not producing the jalapenos right now."

He started to say something else but stopped quickly.

OK.

So I go to Tom Thumb.

I start singing "Welcome to Tom Thumb Texas"

WTF?

What happened to the Onions and Jalapenos ???

Anyone know? Is there a shortage? A blight?

A pepper war and an onion occupation?

Oh, the humanity.
