Thought I would share my lunch find from today. Tacos Plus is on the
south side of Beltline 1 block west of Webb Chapel, technically Misty
Lane. It's a brightly-painted building, but sort of behind a muffler
shop, so you have to look for it.

Anyhow, it looks like it is set up to accomodate happy hours in the
evening. To the right is a large covered area with tables in open-air,
and apparently they have cheap margaritas at night. To the left is the
indoor area - a small place with a counter to order.

They have traditional fare - not heavy on tex-mex. You can get
quesadillas and nachos, but it's clear the focus is on the tacos,
posole, menudo and various other items.

I went with the lunch special of 5 tacos - no sides present or necessary
- for $5.55. This allowed me to try one each of the barbacoa (shredded
brisket), pastor (pork with pineapple), pollo (chicken), carnitas (pork)
and lingua (tongue).

All were excellent - two thin white corn tortillas around the seasoned
meat, cilantro and raw white onion. Lots of lime wedges on the side,
along with a spicy green sauce and a red sauce that tasted like
chipotle.

My favorite was actually the lingua. I always tell people they will
love tongue and seek it out if they try it - it has the richest, best
beef flavor of just about any cut.

I'll go back. Cheap, tasty and friendly.

I liked it. I got the three taco combo and it filled me up. Misty Lane
is just past Webb Chapel so if you're going west on Beltline yo need to
pass Webb Chapel and take the first left turn cutout for Misty Lane.
