I'm responsible for taking a couple of out-of-town visitors out for
dinner next Saturday. The event is being held in Caddo Mills, and
the visitors are staying in a hotel in Rockwall.

So, basically, I'm looking for restaurants somewhere on the I-30
corridor between Greenville and Rockwall - closer to Rockwall being
better.

Not sure what kind of food they'll want, but certainly something
casual - probably Tex-Mex, BBQ, catfish; that sort of thing.

(One place I've found in an online search is Gloria's in Rockwall,
but I've never heard of them....)

Ideas? Thanks!

Rockwall has grown quite a bit, and there are a lot of options. If the
Gloria's in Rockwall is affiliated with the ones in Dallas, it's a good
salvadoran restaurant. There's also a Snuffers out there if you want to
regale them with the utter decadence that is their cheddar fries.

I'm not sure about barbecue or Tex-Mex places out there. It's been a while
since I drove the stretch between Greenville and Rockwall. (Last time I went
that way I couldn't see anymore) If there's an El Fenix out that way then
it'll be a stable bet, and they've got them all over the place.

There's an ElChico in Rockwall if you're desperate for TexMex. I find
ElChico kinda boring and tasteless. Drive west on I-30 across the lake (5
minutes?)and at BassPro Drive, there is the CountyLineBBQ, as well as
TexasLand and Cattle steakhouse. Oar House in Rockwall has italian, and
there are several other restaurants in Rockwall on the east side of Lake Ray
Hubbard..........

I've always liked the Culpepper Cattle Company on the south side of I30 (on
the service road) as you go up the hill into Rockwall from Dallas. Looks
like they've gone more upscale since the last time I was there.
