Looking for a good mexican restaurant in east Dallas to make a regular place
since my old regular closed down. Not looking for something real expensive
or a chain like El Fenix. Just some little family run joint with great
food.

Any suggestions?

Carmen's Restaurant
4717 Singleton Blvd.

Food is good, service is fast, and prices are very reasonable. Our kids
(kinda picky) like it too.

I like Matt's Rancho Martinez in Lakewood adjacent to the Lakewood
theater. Good food, margaritas and a top ten patio. Taqueria Lupita
on Henderson has great tacos al pastor - don't let the gangster vibe
scare you as the people are really nice.

Give Tacquito a try! It's on East Grand, just a block north of I-30.
Another great place (although not exactly in east Dallas), is Escondido and
it is fabulous. It's on Butler St. off Harry Hines, just 2 blocks north
from Parkland Hospital. Both places are small, family run, and inexpensive
for great Mexican food.....
