I don't know about "good," but Chili's has relented and will now
cook your burger to order. Cheddar's will not - this was noted
here in dfw.eats a couple-three months ago, I think.

Chili's has been much better lately. They have a pretty decent burger
when they do it medium rare. The cooks tend to like to salt and pepper
the shit out of them at times though.

I posted about Cheddar's months ago, and haven't set foot back in one
since (and I would eat there at least once a month) so I can't say if
they got over their mad cow diseased notion of how to cook a burger.
Last I heard, they were trying to "healthify" the menu, which is
normally a death knell for a place selling greasy crap.

Best one in Plano, probably The Grazing Cow. Grass fed beef, crazy
juicy. Will cook as you like. If it is still open - haven't been in a
while. Best tasting beef for a burger probably in a three state radius.
Or planet radius.

Kenny's Burgers on Legacy in Frisco north of 121 has an awesome Mushroom
Burger (with brie) and they too will cook to order. And they have
THE...BEST...ONION...RINGS...ON...EARTH... huge 1" wide, thick cut,
perfectly battered, bring an arterial stent with you.

Otherwise, Fuddruckers will take an order for medium rare, but that
doesn't mean the cook does it that way. The one in Frisco on Preston at
121 has been doing a good job as of late.

Relatedly, In-N-Out is probably 60 days from opening across the street...

Scotty Ps will cook to order, decent burger. They have good rings, thick cut
and strings, I prefer the strings.
Kellies Eastside has good burgers and will cook to order, the southwest
burger made the top 20 in D magazine( I believe), cooked over wood
Haven't tried Kennys, but it's on my list after seeing it on Ch 5 foodies on
Saturday night
Grazing cows' are good but only takes credit cards and I think the patties
are just too thin, even if you get 2/3 pounder, they just stack two 1/3
patties on top of each other.
I'm also looking for a good burger joint in Plano/Richardson, like I use to
get at Hamburger Hut in Richardson when I was in HS.
So iffen i find one I'll post it

Please do ...I was a 9th grader at Richardson North Jr. High at the
time the Hamburger Hut was around, circa 1969. ( I think they told us
we were freshmen at the new JJ Pearce HS, but it wasn't finished yet).
I had my first chili cheese burger at the Hamburger Hut ( next to the
Tom Thumb) at the age of 16 and have been searching for one like it
ever since...probably not gonna' happen...I'm gettin' old :)
Also, I was the champion of one of the pin ball machines there...I
spent ALL my Dallas Times Herald paper route money there..until my old
man had to bail me out of my debt to the MAN at the Herald :)
Sorry for rambling, but every time someone mentions the Hamburger
Hut...I can't help myself...good memories

It was owned by the Huffs, when to school with their daughter Cindy
Damn good burger. Do you know Dels is reopened in downtown?
It's not what I remember, but the guy did buy the recipe for the
homemade Root Beer and Pizza Villa is still like it was.
Mark, the son runs it now, Don passed away a couple years ago.
Did ya graduate in 73?
We probably know some of the same people if ya did

If you've got a Fuddruckers around there or a local Snuffer's, (I seem to
remember a Snuffer's up there) they'll cook your burger any way you want it,
including rare.

Thin patties are ok but I am looking for the thick patties. There are lots
of choices for thin patties out there. I usually go to Burger House for
those. They opened one up in Plano on Parker and Preston finally. I have
been going to the original one across the street from SMU since I was a kid.

You consider Fuddruckers and Snuffers to be thin patties? I've never had
anything at either place I'd call a thin patty like you'd get at Burger
House.

I don't think it's possible to do a thin patty with a half pound burger and
fit it on a normal plate.

Went to The Grazing Cow, not bad but nothing to brag about. Pricey and it
was way over seasoned. It I was to go back I would order it with no or
little seasoning. fries the same as everyone else. Dipping sauce was there
but I am a ketchup on fries guy so really does me no good. Tried a few for
fun but ended up using ketchup.
