I bought one at Central Market back in December when I was visiting
Dallas

Didn't really notice any difference in taste

What has really impressed me is the fountain coca-cola at a Casino
north of Seattle. They don't water down the fountain drinks and it
just taste awesome, taste just like to cokes that I remember.

Man, I remember really cherry cokes where they actually used fountain
drinks and put real cherries and cherry juice in. Also, lemon and
lime cokes.

Is it just me or did Dr. Pepper taste differently when I was a kid. I
know when I buy Dr. Pepper in Europe, it taste like I remember it
tasting when I was a kid. I was told that they don't use
preservatives and use real sugar. It even smells like to old DP.

As a comparison, Costco has Mexican cane-sugar Coke for about
79 cents per 12-oz bottle.

Got to drive to at least Weatherford to get a good deal on Dublin DP -
you can find the cans on the shelves at Walmart there. I drove to Dublin
proper and loaded up the van... down to my last two six packs, about
time to head back.

a 6 pack of 10 oz. bottles. It's $10 a case in Dublin...

It has been a while since I went down to Dublin and bought any. I did find
it was pretty expensive there at the factory, but there was a
discount/grocery store basically across the street, and they were selling
it for something like 30-40% less than the factory at the time. That's
been a few years, but there are stores within a small radius of the plant
in Dublin allowed to sell it. I think the only other market in Texas where
it can be sold in regular grocery stores, etc, is Temple - that's what they
said on the tour, at least. Not sure how places like Frys get away with
selling it - maybe they just bypass teh normal distributor territories and
ship it in themselves - something your average supermarket chain would be
unwilling to do because of the logistical cost. Just a guess.

I think it's the same way specialty soda shops get it - as a boutique
product. The only thing I see outside the 50 miles around Dublin are the
10oz bottles. Nobody has the cans.

Jason's Deli on Frankford did, for a while, have it out of the fountain
- that was in fact how I first came across it. Alas, they didn't renew
their agreement, so no more DDP. And subsequently, I visit Jason's a
tenth of the time now... odd how that works.

Was $4.99 a six pack at the Shell station down the street from the plant
this morning when I passed through Dublin. I believe that Whole Foods has
them as does Central Market.
